So for some reason my 360 really doesn't want me to play Guitar Hero 3. The first bundle we bought had a guitar with a sticky fret. Exchanged it and got a defective disc. Exchanged it again and it seemed to be working fine. Now all of a sudden it starts up insanely slow and sounds like it grinds in the disc drive. None of the other games we have do that, so I don't know what the deal is. Anyway, I went to play GH3 and it apparently freezes while it's trying to load my game from the hard drive. I'm able to tell it to go back to the dashboard, but then it freezes doing that. When I reboot the system my profile is GONE. I stared between the tv and my games, ready to throw in the towel and just give up. After realizing I didn't really have any other options, I deleted my corrupted profile (only, keeping the saves) and then recovered my gamer tag. Hurrah all seems to be well! I've only played Guitar Hero 2 since then, but it seemed to reattach to all my saves just fine. Kinda makes you think about how unstable and transient a hobby gaming is...so much time and effort can be gone in the blink of an eye.

In other news, before the Super Bowl party I went to, my fiance and a couple of his friends and I went to a shooting range. It was basically the first time I'd seen a gun in person, let alone shot one. We just rented a 22, so nothing big, just a good little starter gun. Took me a while to get the hang of it, but I did pretty decent. I'm not really a big fan of guns, but it seemed like a fairly decent thing to do atleast once in my life. If I could find an archery range around here I'd be really into that.

I went into the Super Bowl not really caring either way. I'd been rooting for Green Bay previously, mostly because their game against the Seahawks was awesome. But then the Giants beat them (rightfully so, from how GB played that game), and I lost my interest. I went to a party with some people from work and was rooting for the Giants under orders from my fiance and parents, but didn't really have my heart in it. But damn...by the second quarter I was getting pretty into it, and by the end I was biting my nails along with everyone else. If every game was that good I'd really get into football. Problem is, most games this good come at the end of the season, and by the time football comes back around my excitement has long faded. Maybe I'll try and force myself to give it a try next season and try to rekindle that interest.
